The Top 10 Fitness Trends for 2015 (BTC has them ALL)!

Each year, the American College of Sports Medicine surveys fitness experts all over the world to predict what the biggest trends in fitness will be for the year. ACSM polls over 3,400 fitness and health experts worldwide, with 39 potential trends given as choices. It’s no surprise that this year’s top ten spots are filled with fitness trends that are at the core of Blackburn Training Center. Take a look below to see all the fitness trends for 2015…and all that BTC has to offer!

1. Body Weight Training

One of the things I like most about BTC is that I’m not walking into a standard gym with intimidating fitness apparatuses. Body weight training requires minimal equipment (think push-ups and pull-ups) and has our coaches giving members a more back to basics approach on workouts and helping them increase and build lean muscle mass.

2. High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)

When you hit a 8am or 9am Saturday class at BTC, you are most likely walking into a high-intensity interval training class or what our coaches like to call hurricanes! Typically these are fast-paced 30-minute intense workouts. Great for fat burning and improving condition.

3. Educated and Experienced Fitness Professionals

The coaches at BTC are all certified professionals that are extremely passionate about helping each team member strive for the healthiest version of themselves.  They want you to succeed as much as you want to!

4. Body Weight Training

Strength training days at BTC are never easy (let’s face it, none of the days are) because they are designed to help you build and increase lean muscle mass and reduce body fat. Between body weight exercises, kettle bells and free weights (think bar bells and dumb bells) you are helping to control your weight and improve your balance.

5. Personal Training

One of the best parts about the workouts at BTC is that they are essentially a personal workout, but you are never working out with just a trainer.  You are surrounded by team members and there is always a certified professional coach present to make sure you have proper form and execution of each movement.

6. Exercise and Weight Loss

When you join BTC our coaches don’t just focus on your exercise program, but your nutrition as well. It’s all about giving you the tools to eating healthy and exercising for improved weight loss.

7. Yoga

Blackburn Training Center offers yoga every Sunday after open gym…furthering the quest to give members a time to relax and focus on their health and mental well being.

8. Fitness Programs for Older Adults

Look around at BTC and you will see a variety of team members of all ages.   Most of our older members rarely need modified workouts and are focused on keeping active and healthy.

9. Functional Fitness

Many of the daily workouts at BTC include functional fitness workouts. These types of exercises are designed to help you handle real life situations. For example, bent-over rows help you work your back, shoulders, and arm muscles and your body overall. You begin to find that this type of exercise carries over to your real life (ie. picking up a child out of a crib).

10. Group Personal Training

The best part of being a member of Blackburn Training Center is that you’re part of a team. You still feel like you having one-on-one personal training, but you are surrounded by people that are on the same path of health and fitness. There is truly nothing better!
